"Please show your ID cards and wait in line for your turn to fill out the form"
The slow and precise instructions from the security outside the university, the whispers among the students , the whole atmosphere was bustling with urgency and anticipation.
I've settled in my new students dorm close to the university, Nina was just a few blocks away and now we were standing in line waiting for our turn.
After what felt like an eternity, we filled and submitted our forms to the security who instructed us to visit the conference hall for further instructions.
As I walked, I noticed the red maple trees adorning the university with its bright colour, The University spread out with various branches named on boards placed at every corner, what caught my eye was the majestic Library standing tall with its incredible vintage architecture, the place seemed like heaven for readers pulling them into its sanctuary.
I resisted the urge and made my way to the conference hall to see students from all branches gathered in one spacious meeting hall.
As the session continued about the legacy of the University, the diversity of courses available here, the speaker requested to wander the campus for an hour to see the various departments nestling under this educational abode
Just then Nina notices a group of law students and professors discussing among themselves, intrigued she excused herself to meet them promising to meet me later
"Aarna?"
That familiar velvety voice, now grown deep with age sent my whole senses to spiral, a mix of emotions gushing in an instant as if I was standing near a cliff ready to get thrown into the ocean
No....it can't be...it really can't be....
Racing thoughts, my palms coated with sweat and most importantly the threat of feeling ecstatic made my mind go numb
I turned around to see the owner of the voice earning me an acknowledging smile
And my world as I knew it, shattered into a million pieces
